Back-to-Back Western Caribbean Delights

Sail Date: January 17, 2016

Reviewed: 1 year ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

Traveling with another couple, we took the same cruise on Caribbean Princess in both January '15 and '16, finding each a great experience. This year's was even better though (despite a bit of high seas one day) because of the milder weather overall and our wiser choice of shore excursions. Also, the entertainment was top-notch whether in the lounges or major productions in the Princess Theater. Kudos too for the daily Patter with all sorts of info, and the efficient manner of boarding/disembarking. Someone would have to be a real grump not to thoroughly enjoy any Princess cruise.  We plan to book future itineraries aboard Princess ships, confident now -- after five consecutive cruises -- that we won't be disappointed.

Cabin / Stateroom
Cabin steward, Ranier, was excellent. He was attentive in every detail and eager to engage in conversation when we asked about his home country, family, sea service, etc.
Embarkation and Disembarkation
Ship Quality
Though we could probably make our way easily around any Princess ship by now, we always find they're well-maintained and "ship-shape."
Destinations and Excursions
Shore excursions were like a vacation within a vacation. We especially enjoyed the catarmaran/snorkeling venture on Roatan; the crew made us all feel right at home.
Onboard Activities
Long hours at sea were spent in the well-equipped gym, the library and simply relaxing on deck.
Shows in the Princess Theater were polished and professional, while there was always something interesting going on in the bars and lounges too.
Service and Staff
All staff greeted us with courtesy and provided outstanding service.
Food and Dining
We took most meals in the Island dining room and the Horizon Court but had a special-occasion chance to dine in the Crown Grill. Superb!

Don't miss the shows! The singers, dancers and other performers obviously put a great deal of time in making their presentations lively and memorable. Likewise, there seemed to be non-stop entertainment going on throughout the ship (such as the violin duet, piano players, comedians.)
