Review summary
After the unfortunate delay boarding the ship at the Port of Houston, we began a very nice cruise. The crew were all great people providing excellent service. Entertainment was enjoyable. We did the anytime dining which turned out to be best, good food, good seating, and great service. We liked the buffet although it is organized much differently from the other cruises we have been on, meaning you do not simply go to the various dish counters and serve yourself, only a server can give you anything, even a bread roll. No trays for your dishes, but who cares, worked out OK anyway, like on Norwegian ships. Ports are at very backward 3rd world countries, but can be fun and the weather was nice, mostly. We were somewhat unerved on a van excursion when the driver stopped at a remote gas station/store. Two men with slinged shotguns were apparently doing a kind of security watch. Just keeping the store secure I guess. Belize, we road in a van for about 45 minutes or more over a very rough road to see some Mayan ruins. Then it rained... Depending on your interests, check tours, places, what is offered before you go off the ship. Some just walking around the local town is OK as in Cozumel. Once is good enough, fun on the ship.
