We have been on several cruise lines over the years and Royal Caribbean seems to stand above them all! The size of the ship, the routes that we took, and mostly, the staff made our experience wonderful and something to remember.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We had a problem with a birth certificate and Amy helped us get in touch with our party (she was very helpful and concerned)
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Outstanding food and amazing service the entire time! Thank you Fathi and Lorena for all of your amazing attention to detail!
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Plenty of stuff to do and the variety of workout equipment was better than our YMCA!
Entertainment
5 out of 5
So much talent!! We really enjoyed the musicians and frankly, the sound and lights were impressive!
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
We did not bring our kids (6) but there must have been plenty for the kids to do because we were not particularly bothered by others!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our room service was wonderful and Gidi was always around and very friendly. It was amazing that our room was tended to so well and we were not bothered even once! It felt very private, exclusive, and amazingly quiet. Watching the ocean waves go by was very relaxing.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The entire ship was very clean and well-maintained. We saw painting during the daytime and maintenance/workers everywhere tending to the ship's needs. We wanted to tour the bridge!
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Our cabin was absolutely the perfect size. The window was beautiful and positioned directly over the bed for a stunning view and we actually never did turn on the TV! We were relaxing, sleeping, reading, were on the go throughout the ships mini activities constantly and always returned to our cabin with the bed made up and clean towels; thanks to Gidi!
Ship tip
Bring some nice clothes and really get with the activity and fine dining!
We loved getting on the tender for our excursion. It felt good to hear some of the locals that are opposed to building a pier because of the precious reefs in the area. Our excursion to stingray city was absolutely amazing and unforgettable!
We were able to pull ourselves away from the Buffay long enough to get packed and get off the boat although I really had a hard time getting my suitcase closed! Lol returning to the US and going through customs was made much easier by use of a porter! I recommend that you flag we made is the prior selves away from the Buffay table long enough to pack our bags to leave! Flag down a porter when you get off this ship!
I have cruised with RC quite a few times and for me I much prefer the oasis class and larger ships. The Brilliance of the seas is a small and much older ship, decor was old and worn. There wasn’t much entertainment onboard most disappointing was there was no west end show production.
we spent most of our family time in schooner bar playing cards to make our own entertainment.
This was by far the worst ship I have sailed on.
The coffee was dreadful in the cafe, I paid for the Royal refreshment drink package to include the coffee. It wasn’t Starbucks onboard as on all the others RC ships which I’ve been on,
it was terrible and disappointing, even the hot chocolate and coffee tasted watered down and like dishwater!
There is a dartboard in the pub which was good as my son plays for his county and premier leagues which was handy for him to continue to practice so this was a plus for this ship.
There was a white night and silent disco which was fun and I enjoyed the flying the flag parade which made me emotional.
The staff as usual work hard and give great service but for me the lack of entertainment was disappointing. I won’t sail this ship again but for those who prefer small ship and lack of entertainment then this might suit you better.
The itinerary was disappointing.
One stop was Santorini, which was our main reason for booking this particular cruise, yet when we got to Santorini, we were of 4 ships to stop that day and after 2 hours queuing to get the cable cars up to the town, we gave up and went back on board. We were still no where near the front of the queue and our itinerary time had changed as we needed to be back on board around 4pm whereas, originally we were meant to have long on the island. This was a huge disappointment. Personally I have already been to Santorini but my 5 other travellers had not, which is why we booked this cruise. My advice would be, to stay in Santorini rather than cruise it. The queues are enormous and as the town is 300m above sea level, you can only get to the top via (6 cable cars or on donkeys, unless you walk up the steep steps. For us that day of getting to the top was impossible.
