Review summary

I usually cruise with Royal Caribbean. I have loved everything about them. I would not recommentd this ship. I expect more from RC.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food did not live-up to my expectations from previous cruises with Royal Caribbean. It was just OK, but nothing spectacular.

Onboard Activities

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Everyone tried, but they just didn't seem quite as efficient as other crews.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The toilet needed much encouragement to flush all the time. Also, there was a constant smell in the room which seemed to come from the sewage system. Anyway, it smelled like sewage.

Cruising out of Tampa put limits on size of ships that can port there. Only ships under 100,000 tons and under 1000 feet can port there. She is one of 4 ships in class and aurguably the lowest emissions ships RC has as it is clean burning turbine powered using marine jet fuel and not diesel powered. It has proven very reliable and clean burning but uses more fuel than diesel boats so no more were built. One of ships in class, Radiance, has been doing summer cruises for years in Alaska.

This is an older ship without all of the latest bells and whistles, which many see as an advantage. If you want amusement and water parks, it’s not the ship to take.
