Review summary

We enjoyed our cruise. We had great weather and smooth seas. We went to a lot of museums and walked a lot. Definitely do a tour in Russia and the ones not through RCI are much less expensive. We used Alla tours. The food was so good in the main dining room that we only did 2 specialty restaurants. The entertainment was great as were the enrichment lectures.

We enjoyed the food at all the venues. The main dining room was very good.

Onboard Activities

Fitness center was well equipped and not very crowded. The dance classes were a lot of fun.

Entertainment

Excellent and creative entertainment. We loved “Bowjangles” and the mime whose name I’ve forgotten. The music and dance performances were excellent. I attended the Q and A with the performers one morning in which they talked about themselves and working for RCI. It was very interesting.

There was plenty of storage and although small was comfortable. It was quiet and dark which was excellent for sleeping. Our steward Rafia was a sweetheart and took excellent care of us.

Ship tip

On port days go to the 5th deck centrum to get in the line to get off. We used Alla tours for St. Petersburg. Use a tour group in Russia. I brought 2 bottle of wine and got wine glasses from our steward and carried them into dining room at dinner. We had a group of 4 so we used taxis at the ports to get into town as it was much less than the shuttles.

Did the Stromma hop on hop off bus/boat. Walked around the old town and went to the Vasa museum. Make sure you know when the last buses and boats run because we almost missed the last bus.

Beautiful!! We walked the old city and went up to the 2 overlooks in the upper town. Took a taxi to the Kumu museum and walked around a beautiful park with a palace and gardens.

Nice place to visit with a tour but I would never want to live there. We used Alla tours for a 2 day tour and our guide was excellent and took care of all the tickets etc. Many sights were very crowded

We did a “Bike with Mike” tour which was fun and very informative. Had lunch at a big food hall near the Israel plaza. Beautiful welcoming city. I recommend a bike tour.
