Review summary

We have been on several cruises. This cruise was not that exciting. The food wasn't that great. All the entertaining games ect happened in a very small space with limited seating. We were very turned off by the fact that all food shut down after 9pm unless you wanted to PAY for room service with an additional fee.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food in the main dining room was ok. Chops Grille was amazing. The buffet was better than the main

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Everything shut down about 9pm. including pools and food. It seemed like if you weren't a gambler or into drinking you had nothing to do. We felt like we would be in trouble if we were out past 9.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Our room steward Rey was a nice man. We only got one towel animal. They always left the "refill" carts right outside out room. On the second night my husband needed help tying his neck tie. The gentleman in the computer center on deck 7 helped my husband but also insulted the quality of his tie.

Ship Quality

Needs an update

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The size was fine. It was clean. The bed was lumpy.

Ship tip

This would be a good ship for a couple and or family who is quiet.

Thanks for the heads up. I guess I'll save my OBC to be used for room service.

Yes I agree with lacybele, Park Cafe is open once windjammer closes. They also had things going on after 9 when I cruised. I loved Brilliance, been on it twice can’t wait to cruise on her again. I thought the ship was super clean, didn’t think it needed and update. It’s old and looks amazing inside and out. Saw a Carnival Cruise ship in port and they need an update. Even from the outside it was rusted and dirty all around the outside, so I can only imagine the inside. I’m pointing this out because Royal is known to have beautiful super clean ships. Especially there older ones. I thought the food was one of the best and I too have been on a lot of cruises. 5 in just one year. My bed was awesome as well. Sorry you had a bad experience. Not being mean but you sound very picky. Too many negatives, it was a cruise vacation, make the best of it and not take to much time looking for negatives

Was Park Cafe closed? They’re usually open till 2-3 AM! 7.95 for room service is well worth it, seafood pasta, hamburgers etc. you can order all you want for the $7.95 charge😆
