Review summary

We have loved our cruises on other royal carribean ships . After our experience on the brillance in march, i am not sure we will cruise with this cruise line again. Just not the caliber that it has been in the past.

Needs a face lift and we discovered it actually is scheduled to dry dock in april. Many repairs needed and were left undone. Sewer smell in hallways and other areas of ship. Casino has very old slot machines and only 2 roulette tables.

We sailed on Brilliance about 17 months ago and it was its first trip since it returned from Europe a few day earlier. It was in good repair then and staff was good but i was not to happy with general A/C on ship as it was a bit warm in public areas and marginal in our room (we like it cool when we sleep). When we cruised on Majesty 5 months ago staff was superb and A/C was good through out ship and worked great in room too. We have boomed a cruise for September and we choose Majesty over Brilliance that both leave same day from Tampa. Rooms are smaller on Majesty but like layout of ship and room was very quiet.

No, believe me, Royal is awesome!! I went on the Brilliance as well, 2 years ago. I would never go on that ship again. I have been on many of Royal's ships and Brilliance is the only one I did not enjoy. They just need to put that ship to sleep, out to pasture!! I'm on the Empress right now and it's their oldest ship, but it is great!! Small, cute, clean and great staff...and food. Trust me, no ships are better than Royal's small and big ships. Try again.
