Great ship, not so good service and meals. Of course, service and meals are a lot of the reason I go on cruises.

Review summary

I may try Royal Caribbean again, but will likely avoid this particular ship.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Quick and efficient.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Disappointed in food selection and quality. Made me feel like we needed to pay extra to get better. We had reservations and that was great, but no meal took less than 90 minutes to complete (including breakfast). The majority of the time was waiting. I'm use to finding some sort of food at nearly all hours. Watch the available hours because they close down early.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The casino has a no-smoking area in the back near starboard. Otherwise, it was very difficult to breath in the room.

Library

1 out of 5

Doesn't exist. They now have a "book nook" central to the ship. Not a quiet place to relax. Disappointing.

Cinema

4 out of 5

Comfortable seats, but doesn't support wide-screen format.

Pacifica Theatre

5 out of 5

Great environment and great shows. Well done!

Children's Programs

Didn't have children of age.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Was not real impressed by the friendliness of the staff. Room steward was good, but the rest of the staff needs work. It almost seemed as if we were bothering them on their ship.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Ship was well-maintained. I like to relax in a quiet environment and was looking forward to the library. That has been turned into a cruse sales area.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was clean and felt large. Very happy with the cabin.

Ship tip

Pay attention to the times that food service is available. Make sure to see the ship's entertainers. They are really great!

Ports of call

Tampa, Florida Did not visit port

Wasn't really a port of call.

Key West, Florida

5 out of 5
Great port. Had a great time.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Loved Cozumel. Highly recommend the tequila excursion. Carlos was our guide and did an excellent job.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Carried bags off. Staff tried to organize the disembarkation but didn't seem to have things under control. Customs and Security were a breath of fresh air when it came to friendliness. That says something.

My husband and I only cruise royal Caribbean or Celebrity. We have sailed out of Galveston San Juan Newark (port liberty) and Baltimore. The food and entertainment varies from ship to ship. Sailing on Royal Caribbean out of Baltimore was our favorite
