Review summary

Had an ok to good time on this older smaller ship. Weather was cloudy & cool with choppy seas, so we didn't get to enjoy the outside on either sea day & no beach time in Cozumel so that may have influenced our review a little. Balcony cabin was nice, even if we didn't get to sit out on it much it is still the only way to cruise.  Very loud creaking noises at night kept waking us up, assume ships age & choppy seas were the cause. Smallest ship we have sailed on, chose for the dates & cheapest flights & close proximity to airport. Lots & lots of old people on this sailing, 3/4 looked to be over 70.  Will go back to sailing out of Galveston or Fort Lauderdale next time for larger newer ships. Very friendly crew, great service and the food was good. Won't book this ship again,

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was ok to good, think it's ridiculous they charge you for lobster now. And to get a high quality steak you have to pay for it.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Not much to do in late afternoon, and if bad weather ship is pretty boring

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Singer was great, 1st late night comedian was funny. Juggler was boring & 2nd late night comedian not funny

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Very friendly crew, had the misfortune to observe staff deal with stupid obnoxious passengers twice & the Royal Caribbean crew handled themselves very well as they were being yelled at.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Love balcony cabins even in bad weather. Like being on deck 9, can use the stairs for most trips up or down.

Ship tip

Make sure to check out the view from back of ship on deck 11. Go thru windjammer & ritas cantina to find tables & chairs with the best view. Was cold & super windy on pool deck, walked back here and found little to no wind, not crowded at all.

Ports of call

Tampa, Florida

5 out of 5
Saw a sign the Port will store your luggage until 3pm for free if you want to go to Aquarium next door. We had a late flight & had booked a car for the day already but that would have been a good option. Very nice area with many restaurants & activities in walking distance from Port.

Carnival has tugboat size ships that sail out of Tampa. The "Paradise" . The Brilliance and the Norwegian Star are the biggest that can fit under the Skyway bridge, and I mean just by a couple feet.

this is a beautiful and very clean ship for her age, and they say you get better service on a smaller ship.. just saying.
