Review summary

Our main purpose for this cruise was to see the colors.  We had an enjoyable cruise and saw the trees turning color but not as much as expected.  We learned that to see the beautiful colors we need to go inland and not from the cruise ship.  Ports visited were nice but small and very crowded.  Bar Harbor port was skipped due to heavy fog.  It was very nice the captain took the time to explain the reasoning behind his decision - for the safety of his crew and the cruisers.

I've cruised on RCI before and noticed the quality of service is deteriorating.  We have one more voucher and will most likely stop cruising with RCI unless the next cruise  blows our socks off, figure of speech.

Service and Staff

We had the worst assistant waiter ever. He didn't know how to serve and prefer to help wine steward sell wine then wait on us. After complaining to the Head Waiter, he will at least start filling our water glasses and come around with the bread basket the second time. Not a smile from him, a very unhappy person. Luckily, the waiter more than made up for the assistance's inadequacy.

The stateroom attendant was the best of all the cruises we've been on. She took immediate action to remediate the problem with the odor from the bathroom by cleaning the already cleaned bathroom. The odor from the bathroom did not go away as it was due to factor beyond her control. Once she found out our dining schedule our paths did not cross again except in the passageway. Our cabin was always immaculate with fresh towels upon our return during the day and fresh towels and towel animal upon our return at night. We increased her daily tip amount and made sure to put in a written recognition to ensure her supervisor got positive feedback on her exceptional performance.

Ship tip

Make sure to try out the fresh lobster at Halifax.

Very difficult to get wifi. Free wifi is advertised everywhere but getting it is very difficult due to amount of people on it. We ended up at Westin's hotel and paid for a drink to get the free wifi.
