Azamara needs to contract with a different company. The transfer from Venice to Ravenna was terrible and pure chaos. We waited for hours in the sun with no shade, water, or restrooms in the heat of the day. There was no order and people were cutting the line and they only sent one bus for 40 people every hour with hundreds of people waiting. My recommendation is to find an alternative way to get to Ravenna.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We mostly ate at the MDR and the food was overall very good and service was impeccable. Our waiter, Ashley, would always bring an extra sampling of things to try and they were always delicious. The gelato at Windows was always delicious.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We had a lot of fun with the onboard activities and ended up meeting some great people to participate in with. They also give points that can be cashed in on the last day for some great swag.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We didn’t attend too many shows but the ones we did were great with some talented individuals onboard.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The service was the best we’ve had. Our cabin steward, Anthony, was very attentive and efficient. The waiters in all restaurants and bars were friendly and attentive. It’s evident that Azamara places a high emphasis on customer service.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The layout of the ship was great and it was very clean and well maintained. The Onward is an older ship so there’s a little more wear and tear as other have mentioned but we love the ship and know what we signed up for.
Cabin / Stateroom

We had a verandah and it was very clean and comfortable. We used the verandah regularly and ended up having dinner on a few occasions just enjoying the scenery.
Kotor was just beautiful and pulling into port was so lovely. We enjoyed walking around and taking in the sights. There were cute, friendly cats all over so it’s a cat lovers playground.
We went on a ship tour to Lucca and a local winery. Lucca was charming and everyone had a great time at the winery. They were very generous with the wine and food.
We loved Dubrovnik. It was very clean and picturesque. We didn’t walk the entire wall because of the heat but ended up stopping for lunch and having a delicious dish of fresh food and locally picked fruit.
We tendered with a beautiful view of Amalfi, Naples and Mount Vesuvius. We walked around Amalfi and enjoyed the shopping and giant lemons that were all over.
We pulled into port and were surrounded by beautiful yachts. It was fun enjoying the activities from our verandah and we had a nice walk into town from the ship. Very clean and safe.
Very beautiful. The town itself was walkable and wasn’t very touristy. I don’t think they get too many cruise ships in town because we kept seeing locals pull over to take a picture of it.
