Review summary

The ship was very nice with great food, staff, environment and entertainment. Ports were great, but unfortunately we spent too much time and money on the ship's excursions. We should have focused more on the towns close by.

Small computerized casino was pitiful. Minimal player options for Black Jack with obvious bias to computer.

Alicia and Steven were great cruise director/asst director. Both very talented and personable.

Ship tip

Schedule your own excursions. Spend time in the towns rather than hours in a bus.

Ports of call

Southampton (London), England Did not visit port

Visit Stonehenge in route to Southampton from Heathrow.

St. Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands

Having read The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society made the visit to this island much more interesting! We were only here 1/2 day & needed more time at this port!

Cobh (Cork), Ireland

3 out of 5
Did not visit Cobh or Cork. Took an Azamara excursion to Waterford Crystal. The factory was very interesting, but the town lacked charm and interest. The tour guide was boring and talked non-stop! Too long a ride to visit Waterford.

Dublin, Ireland

4 out of 5
Taxi to Powerscourt, quite a long journey but very entertaining driver (Gerry from Dublin Taxi Tours)

Douglas, Isle Of Man

4 out of 5
Great experience riding with IOM Trike (independent tour) across the island! Visited on a Sunday and many shops closed.

Belfast, Northern Ireland

4 out of 5
Independent excursion to Giant's Causeway - very interesting

Greenock (Glasgow), Scotland

Kirkwall, Orkney Islands, Scotland

Quaint town with great shops; ship excursion to see Skara Brae neolithic village that DID NOT STOP AT VILLAGE!

Invergordon (Inverness & Loch Ness), Scotland

3 out of 5
Ship excursion to Loch Ness - not impressive.

Dundee, Scotland

4 out of 5
Independent visit to DISCOVERY, the south pole exploration ship was very interesting. Independently rode horses at Pathhead. Independent visit to Broughty Ferry, an upscale beach village just outside of Dundee. Overnight at this port, but no ship transfers after 6 pm.

Leith (Edinburgh), Scotland

3 out of 5
Independent visit to Britannia was very nice. Independent visit to Edinburgh Castle interesting. Again, ship was in town overnight, but no ship-to-town transportation was available after 6 pm.
