Great ship, small (650 passengers). The captain was outstanding, very visible around the ship. Specialty dinning was great. Main dining room service was poor. Food was excellent. Itinerary was excellent. Cabin attendant was exceptional. Buffet was nice.

Activities were great for a small ship. Two lecturers gave talks on all sea days.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
All service and staff were exceptional except for the dining room. Because dining room service is such a major part of the cruise i dropped the rating to OK.

Ship tip

Overall service was outstanding and the drinks were free. Some types of alcohol were "premium" and had and extra charge. All after dinner liqueurs were and extra charge.

Port officials would not let anyone off the ship because we had too many cases of norovirus.

Safaga (Luxor), Egypt Did not visit port

On ship injury prevented us from doing this port. Our friends went into town and said it was horrible. They wished they hadn't left the ship.

Aqaba (Petra), Jordan

5 out of 5
Did not do ship shore excursion. Booked a Viator tour that took us down to the Petra "Library" in a golf cart. It is a very long walk on unstable footing.

Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt Did not visit port

On ship injury prevented us from doing this port.

Suez Canal Transit

5 out of 5
Our first trip on the canal. No locks and a little boring. Jordon was on one side and Egypt on the other. One of those places you say "I did it".

Ashdod, Israel Did not visit port

On ship injury prevented us from doing this port.

Haifa, Israel Did not visit port

On ship injury prevented us from doing this port.

Limassol, Cyprus Did not visit port

On ship injury prevented us from doing this port.

Piraeus (Athens), Greece Did not visit port

We had been there before. Went straight to the airport, which is a long drive. Four of us took a private limo that was only $20 more than the ship transfer.

We loved the Journey and Capt Johannes. We thought the dining room and service was awesome. Mind you, our cruise was 2016

We've only done 81 cruises so far, but there are so many we still want to go on! Hopefully we'll make 170 someday! Happy cruising!
