Great for Music by Cruiser84701372

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Aurora / Destination: Canaries

This cuise was a Musical Festival at Sea, but most of the people on board (like myself) seem to have been unaware of this when they booked.

However, in my case it was a bonus, and would like to go on another similar cruise in the future.

Nice cruise by ecmccook

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Aurora

A lovely cruise and the refurbished ship looks good all the staff we met were very nice and attentive nothing was a bother. Our cabin A311 was nice and plenty of storage space there was tea and coffee as well the bathroom was a bit pink but OK the shower wasn't that powerful. There was a lot of vibration and the safe door rattle a lot at sea this wouldn't put us off going on aroura again.

Northern Lights Cruise by Carlgrainger

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Aurora

We did get to see the Northern Lights twice from the ship, nothing spectacular but it is near the bottom of its 11 year cycle plan to go back in 2024. It was extremely cold for this time of year. It snowed on the ship at sea 2-3inch In Alta all the ships internal fire doors had to be kept closed to keep the warmth in. The glass windows around the indoor pool had ice on the inside. Over all it was a great trip made some good friends and will plan to do it again.

Fantastic cruise to nowhere by brunodog36

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Aurora / Destination: United Kingdom

A short party cruise which delivered exactly as expected. Lots of people celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, hen parties and stag parties. Good atmosphere and entertainment. Probably not everyone’s choice but we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Excellent Experience by HSHThorne

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Aurora

Excellent cruise, I’ve now booked a world cruise on Aurora (one of my favourite ships). Aurora is elegant and comfortable offering an excellent cruise. The ship feels bigger than what it is as there is a lot of space per passenger.

Great Cruise! by HSHThorne

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Aurora

Outstanding ship with a great itinerary. The ship is small however even at full capacity the ship feels large and spacious. Aurora is clean and elegant throughout. The entertainment was also to a good standard. Dining in all venues was amazing and we received excellent service. The staff were helpful and friendly as always with P&O.

Worst ever cruise, like nursing home at sea, never again. by JohnPaul78

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Aurora

We have cruised with various cruise lines and have completed 35 cruises including this one and can honestly say it’s the worst cruise we have ever been on, we said whilst on-board that if this had been our first cruise it would definitely be our last. We have both been very loyal to P&O and other Carnival brands over the years and I am a Carnival shareholder too. We cannot believe how very badly the whole situation has been handled on-board the ship and also the difficulty and stress it’s been to try and resolve the many issues, after all we were supposed to be on holiday having a good time. 4 noisy cabins in 7 days, 8 key cards each and 13 days of no sleep out of 19 nights is just not acceptable.

Lovely cruise by somersetmum

A relaxing time with plenty of sunshine. It was refreshing to see lots of younger people onboard rather than the usual elderly clientele base.

Great crew but ship needs refurbishment. by donutman1234

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Aurora

Positives: The included food was mostly good. The buffet had limited options but the menu changed daily and the food was always piping hot. The MDR food was good except for the deserts which I found very bland. The entertainment was very good particularly the Aurora orchestra and cast. The guest entertainers were above average too and we saw a different show every night of the cruise which were all very good. Being a smaller ship, we found the service to be above average. The waiters and bar staff worked very hard and always had a smile on their faces. Everyone from the housekeepers to the officers were always polite and willing to talk which was very refreshing. Negatives: The ship is in major need of a refurbishment. The public toilets were frequently broken and my cabin toilet broke down six times during the cruise. Many areas are showing severe signs of age and the whole ship had a musty damp smell about it. The ship has essentially been turned into a floating retirement home. Most passengers were seventy years plus and a lot of the daytime activities were aimed towards senior citizens which were a little dull for my liking.

Relaxing cruise by somersetmum

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Aurora

A relaxing cruise but the food needs to improve. Freedom dining should be available to all passengers not just to those who pay select fare. When you're on the Liguarian tier, it's disappointing to only be able to access the buffet when allocated e0.30 pm club dining which is too late. Requested a change but refused.

Loved the ship. Not too big. Adult only which made for a more relaxing experience. Reasonably priced drinks. Wifi pretty good. We will definitely cruise on Aurora again.

R301 on P&O Aurora. the friendliest Cruise ship ever by Nikonshooter

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Aurora

Good Cruise, would love to go to most places again. met some lovely people and made friends. A cruise that was amazing made even better by everyone wanting the same thing, what you put in, you get out. Argentina refused entry to P&O because of the Union Jack Flag painted on its Bow.

Christmas and New years cruise to the Canaries by mrsretromal

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Aurora

Overall we enjoyed the cruise but as it was an adults only Christmas cruise with the average age of passengers being 76 we felt as we are mid 60s a little bit too young. We would go on the ships again but not at Christmas.

What a glorious way to spend 4 weeks. Crossing the Atlantic both times was every bit as enjoyable as port days. Best way to see the world. Wonderful staff. Lovely ship.
