Review summary

Overall 4 is about right. The size of the ship is restrictive and many of my criticisms relate to this fact. However, the small size allowed us to enter the fjords, so any discomfort is worth the scenery and actually seeing the Northern Lights.

The Alan Ayckbourne play was especially well done and a change from the usual shows. All performers were good.

Service and Staff

This is still mixed. The waiters at our fixed time dining and breakfast and also the room steward were absolutely exceptional. This made our experience a memorable one. However some of the other staff around the boat just did not have the same manners, training and skills and were very disappointing.

Too small and very cramped. However, I knew what I was getting when I booked.

Ship tip

Lack of comfortable seating not associated with a franchise. By this I mean that very few areas with a view were available without being pestered by either waiters or other passengers wanting the space for drinks. Also the lack of agility of more and more people on these cruises can hinder those like myself, who are agile, around the ship and on excursions.

The whole experience of P&O Embarkation and Diembarkation is ledgendary. Who on earth would fly when you have this seamless transition to and from the boat and car.
