Review summary

We had a fantastic time and made some new friends along the way. It is quite possibly overall the best cruise that I have ever been on and I have been on quite a few. 😉

Embarkation

3 out of 5
We got there early since we weren't sure how long it would from Rome to the port. They let us on early so we were very happy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The best food that I have ever had on a cruise. Every single meal was absolutely delicious.

Playmakersâ„  Sports Bar & Arcade

4 out of 5

I went up to watch a couple of games, however, it was very crowded. No seats left. Also I felt that it is a little out of the way.

Giovanni's Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar

5 out of 5

Excellent food and service. We overate as usual when we eat at Giovanni's

Schooner Bar

5 out of 5

Loved the trivia in the Schooner Bar. Just make sure to arrive early to get a seat as they go fast.

Wonderland Imaginative Cuisine

5 out of 5

We always do Wonderland while we are onboard. Our waiter Jeffery was wonderful and the food was delicious. If you haven't done Wonderland, I would highly recommend it. It is quite the experience.

Main Dining Room

5 out of 5

Our wait staff Muhammad and Canri were fantastic. They had olive oil and parmesan for my husband's bread everyday and remember my cappuccino and Bailey's each day as well. Also our head waiter, Richard came by every day to make sure that everything was going well, which, of course, was.

The Cafe @ Two70

5 out of 5

Loved the game shows in the 270 and the "Book" is absolutely phenomenal.

El Loco Fresh

5 out of 5

Great choice for a quick lunch. I had a burrito and my husband had nachos with everything on them. It was all delicious.

Teppanyaki

5 out of 5

A must do. Our chef, Elvis, was fantastic. It truly is a dinner and a show. Also you can get lobster there without having an extra upcharge.

Solarium Bistro

5 out of 5

The solarium bistro is where we had most of our breakfast and lunches. Everything was great.

Chop's Grille

5 out of 5

Very Yummy, everything was cooked to perfection.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Loved doing the trivia. It just seemed like sometimes the trivia would overlap each other.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Loved, loved, loved all the aerialists that they have on board. Their production teams performed wonderfully. There was a lot of strobe lights, however, which made it hard for me to watch. I almost had to leave. They did warn us about the lightning though.

Two70

5 out of 5

Absolutely loved the Book. You need reservations but it is a must see. Wonderfully done.

Music Hall

5 out of 5

Loved the trivia and game shows in the music hall.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
The whole staff was very friendly. Our favorite staff members were Mu and Delroy up in the sunshine bar. They made the best drinks! Of course we loved our wait staff, Muhammad and Canri, and our stateroom attendant, Harris.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Very clean and the hand sanitizer stations were always full. The ship is laid out well especially for its size.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Great balcony room. It seemed larger then some of the rooms we have had in the past.

Ship tip

Have fun and enjoy your cruise. Remember, relax your on vacation!

Ports of call

Valencia, Spain

5 out of 5
We had a change in itinerary due to the flooding in Valencia. We went to Palma De Mallorca instead.

Cartagena, Spain

4 out of 5
We did a ship excursion and were disappointed with the tour. We felt as if we just paid for transportation into town. We probably would have been better off just taking a taxi or another form of transportation. It was a nice place though.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

5 out of 5
We were fortunate to arrive in Rome four days early and got to see a lot of things. They say Rome wasn't built in a day. Well, it can't be explored in a day either. We did a lot of walking so bring some comfortable walking shoes.

Barcelona, Spain

5 out of 5
Loved Barcelona. We took a ship excursion and had a great tour guide.

Malaga, Spain

5 out of 5
We did a ship excursion and it was nice.

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

5 out of 5
We didn't do an excursion as this was where we ended our cruise.

Funchal, Madeira

5 out of 5
We took a shuttle from the ship into town. We did the hop on hop off bus first, which was very nice and affordable, since the shops weren't opened yet. Then we walked around and did some shopping.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Crowded but seemed well organized.

Jofoster how did you get it changed back to 5 stars?

DRHoesten     5 days ago

Bruce51 I didn't give it 3 stars, I gave it 5 stars but for some weird reason the website keeps changing all of my 5 stars to 3. I contacted support about it and they said that they were going to fix it but unless they fixed the wrong one, they still haven't done it.

Thanks for sharing your cruise

What a great informative review. Thank you. Regarding the 3 stars, the problem lies with this site jumping around at this time and making it hard to properly record. It happened to me as well.

Glad you had a wonderful cruise! Thank you for your detailed review.

We were on this same ship for this itinerary and have never experienced a better staff on any other cruise. The ports were wonderful ( I wish we would have been able to go to Valencia). It is hard to imagine a better cruise is possible!

I was confused how everything was really good but you gave it a 3.7 rating ???????

DRHoesten     5 days ago

This is suppose to have a 5 star rating not 3.7
