The quality of the food and the live music were our highlights. The announcements at the Windjammer and main dining made it clear the Anthem had set a goal, that it was achieving in recent weeks, of being ranked the overall best in the fleet. We agree.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Smooth, took little time, we were on the ship in 15 minutes.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
This food in the main dining rooms was excellent, the best we have experienced, not only on RCI but any cruise line. Same for the Windjammer. We had three vegetarians who really enjoyed the wide variety available in the Windjammer, Jimmy Oliver was also excellent.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We used the pools and jacuzzies, SeaPlex for bumper cars and other activity. We did not rock-climb or use the fitness centers
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We loved the Music Hall and all the live performances and Bolero's. We saw the opening juggler/comedian who was terrific. The live music by the pool was also very enjoyable.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
Our six year old loved Adventure Ocean and went several times during the cruise, making friends that he would meet at the pool or on excursions.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone was excellent especially Rajesh, our room attendant.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
This was our fourth cruise on the Anthem. We love the ship. We sailed Norwegian recently because RCI cancelled cruises to the Panama Canal. The ship layout was terrific and the bathrooms were always dirty, unlike RCI and the Anthem.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
There were two of us and the size was fine, storage was more than adequate for one week and it was always clean.
Ship tip
Take full advantage of all it has to offer and compare it to other cruise experiences. You will want to cruise it again.
The facility is excellent and since we live in NJ, we stay the night before at a local hotel where we also leave our car, so very handy and predictable.
We hired Uber and spent nearly four hours at Magic Kingdom. If for this cruise the ship could arrive early in the morning and leave a full day for Disney World, that would be even better.
