We love cruising and have 2 future cruises booked. Just wanted to give honest opinions to allow others the opportunity to ask questions or help make their cruise run smoothly.
Embarkation

Went fairly smooth but during previous cruises we could drop bags and enter the parking garage. This cruise the parking garage would not allow entry until after 10 am. This had many people circling the area waiting for entry causing additional traffic through an already tight area.

Food and Dining

Plenty of great food but missed the desserts from years past. Looked forward to the themed deserts like cupcake night, pie night, donut night etc. This cruise, over half of the choices were fruit jello or whipped dessert from elementary school. Also there was a lack of shrimp available in windjammer. Fresh bread and salad bar choices were great as usual.
Onboard Activities

We enjoyed the escape room and it had been updated since our last cruise. Did our free session of ifly and North Star and they were great as usual. It is sad that Royal has changed to only allow the free session during port days as it was something we used to do on sea days to have something to look forward to on those days as well. The North Star was idle for long periods during sea days. We spent lots of time playing trivia and participating with activities. Really irritating to watch people using their phones in trivia. Everyone’s phones can look up answers it was more fun to see what your team really knew without help. But I guess if you really need a keychain that bad go for it

We will rock you is still awesome!! Did not go to see the gift this trip. Had less headliners this trip. It was nicer in the past to have the more headliners on the longer trip. As mentioned in previous reviews by others the app is often not compatible with what is actually scheduled.
Service and Staff

Have always found Royal staff to be a cut above the rest. Our room steward Ferdinand was an invisible super hero. The bar staff at the sky bar was awesome-Derrick,Eugene and Alexander I will miss you!!! Rita and Shana from windjammer were great as well.

Cabin / Stateroom

Spacious and clean. Did have some creaking noises from the rough seas on the return trip. The 2 usb ports on the desk did not work.
Took a catamaran trip to Nevis. Weather was not great water was very rough. Several cruisers on board became sick. Snorkel area was rough and not enough life jackets were provided. About half on trip chose not to get in the water. Lunch was to be provided and they ran out of food (served not self service). Beach portion of trip was rough as well. Another group from Royal was just leaving area. An elderly lady on our trip was offered a lounge chair by a departing guest. The tour operator came running over and told the woman she needed to pay 5$ or get off the chair. I understand the weather is uncontrollable but allowing this woman the ability to rest a few minutes before returning to the rough seas would have gone a long way.
Appreciate your detailed review. There are always people who will cheat. But, like you, if that’s what makes them feel good, so be it. Glad you enjoyed your mostly enjoyed your cruise.
