Review summary

We had the most enjoyable cruise ever to date. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I relaxed and enjoyed going with the flow meeting and making new friends. Less really is more when it comes to enjoying these ports, in my humble opinion. Don’t be afraid to share your table with others when going for a more formal breakfast or lunch :) it’s one of the best ways to make new friends.

Jamie's Italian

Our waiter here was not the friendliest but we enjoyed the food and company of another family we met onboard while trying all the plank appetizers and deserts plus our entrees. We were so stuffed :) So much fun!

The Workshop

The workshop is a great place onboard.>>>The Whitworth Ranch scrapbooking event was not a favorable experience for us.They did not allow my daughter and I to make adjustments down to one participant well in advance of the cruise due to concerns of too many activities- but took our money and ran a six hundred dollar loss for us. No attempt was made on their part to accommodate us or make things right as with other excursions and offers onboard. This is a Texas group and notably very cliquish. We had several scrapbooking members from a Colorado group in attendance who said, “Never Again.”Worst and most expensive lesson ever - to date.

Service and Staff

The staff was very friendly and helpful overall. Just the one waiter at Jamie’s Italian restaurant was not happy and appeared to not be very friendly or into his job. Just going through the motions.

Cabin / Stateroom

We had adjoining cabins and were very happy with our accommodations overall. My only complaint is that the mattresses felt too hard.

Ship tip

There are so many activities onboard to participate in while cruising. Save your money and scrapbook back home - use the money for excursions and memories with your family while onboard. Try some of the specialty dining :) you will be so glad that you did.

Ports of call

Portland, Maine

It was raining, my Mother in law and I got a bike ride down Main Street and shopped for trinkets on the way back to the cruise ship. My husband and daughter caught up with us and we went a block off the Main Street and across from the fish market where we enjoyed some of the sweetest freshest lobster you could ever desire. Yum, and the price was right :)

Bar Harbor, Maine

We were all tired and it was raining again. Tendering delays started cutting into the day so we went to the buffet and enjoyed the fall colors from onboard and took pictures with the photo staff. Lazy day enjoying the ship.

Saint John, New Brunswick

We rented a car and drove to the Bay of Fundy. Best decision ever, we could stop for pictures when we wanted and had additional time to enjoy our experience and the beautiful scenery.

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

Research and get your tickets for the Statue of Liberty early it’s a must see bucket list item and so worth the price of admission. Before sail away - find the “Tear” in memory of those lost on 9-11. You don’t have to leave the ship for pictures.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

We rented a car and drove over to see Peggy’s Cove. We had time to stroll around and enjoy a meal and shopping at the local restaurant.

Boston, Massachusetts

We took an uber over to Bunker hill and ate at a historic restaurant :) so much fun exploring the city. So much to do :)

A Wheelchair assist was provided for my Mother-In-Law and myself. I ended up with a case of gout in my knees and the assistance was ver much appreciated.
