Review summary

1st time on Anthem and took some time to learn how to get around the ship. It was cold and raining on the way to Bermuda so couldn’t do much outside until we were in Bermuda. On way home it was better so could enjoy the deck more and barely used our balcony due to it being cold on way down and then on wrong side of ship for sun on way home. Great cruise and Royal C never disappoints with crew being great.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining was great as usual, we have gluten allergies and ate in main dining room most of the time. The Windjammer had limited gluten free options but was great to have it in its own separate area in the back of ship away from the other foods. Dont do the special restaurants since they serve basically the same as main dining room. Have done on other ships and don’t care for them.

Sorrentos

This would of been better if the had separate oven for the gluten free pizza they make but put through same oven as the other pizzas. The Oasis class has separate ovens. Was disappointed!

Bionic Bar

4 out of 5

This was fun to make your own drink once you learned the ordering system on the iPad.

Windjammer Marketplace

3 out of 5

Loved they had a separate gluten free station with food the was served to you so it wouldn’t be contaminated but we always had to find some one to come help us always had to wait. Could use some more options for foods other then the same daily.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We did the North Star while docked in Bermuda and that was great to see the ship and the dockyard. The escape room was booked the whole time while on the ship and bumper cars were only running while we were at breakfast or another activity we were doing.

Guest Services

5 out of 5

They were very helpful with making sure my account was correct and settled before getting off ship the night before.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The We will Rock you show was slow to start but was great at the end. The Gift and Spectra had no story line and were a little hard to follow but were ok. The music hall was fun to listen to at night and the quest game at night was fun as usual. The late night comedians were great!

North Star

Was great experience going up while docked in Bermuda, could see the ship and the dockyard. Got some good pictures.

Music Hall

5 out of 5

This was the place to be for music late after the shows.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room attendant was great and always kept the room in great shape even with a bath and half. The head waiter and servers we had in the main dining room were great and the head waiter made sure our orders were done the night before for the next day, He even made us special dessert orders. The crew on the ship were very helpful and friendly.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was well maintained and very clean. Hadn’t been on this class ship and the layout was strange but figured our way around after a couple days.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was great we had 3 of us and daughter used the pull man bed and we just kept it down and could still use the couch and chair provided. We loved the bath with full tub and shower and the other half bath was great when getting ready to go out. Balcony was good size with comfortable chairs and foot rests.

Ship tip

Try to learn the layout of ship before getting on and the elevators are very slow specially on the first and last days.

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

Didn’t have time in port we drove up dropped off luggage parked in garage and went to check in.

King's Wharf, Bermuda

We liked the port. We were docked overnight and 1st day we took a minibus that brought us to the crystal caves for 15.00 each cash only, then she waited for us since we all wanted to go to horseshoe bay after and then she picked us back up at 5pm to go back to ship and she only charged up the 15each again so we gave her a tip, Mrs Brown was great and told us some history while driving us around. The last day we stayed in the dockyard and took the train around port to the fort museum and did the self tour, saw the dolphins and the snorkel beach out back.

Disembarkation

Very fast, just like getting on ship. 1st time we didn’t do carry off luggage and we had 8:20 time to leave and got down to pick up luggage and ours were almost last in our number group to get. They said to have ID and passports out but they do facial recognition at customs so didn’t need passports. Come out right at garage and in car by 9am and the road.
