Review summary

Will cruise again very soon! Love RCCL and especially Anthem!

Embarkation

We were expecting LOTS of traffic and long lines although it was awesome as we arrived to the port around 10:15am and were on the ship by 11:00am!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate in the MDR, Chops Grille, Solarium Bistro (my favorite), Windjammer, Johnny Rocket’s, Sorrento’s, and Two70. Everything was clean, service was phenomenal, and the food was delicious in all spots!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Some of my fellow cruisers were not so lucky as a lot of activities were cancelled due to weather conditions. We did iFLY on day 2 and what a blast that was (our instructor was awesome) - you only get about 45 seconds in there but totally worth it. We also did the North Star as we were pulling into Bermuda on day 3 and WOW WOW WOW the views were killer. We did try to do the bumper cars although access to them was very minimal but not a concern because you can do them pretty much anywhere.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We saw Steve Caouette (might have spelt his name wrong) one of the comedians and he was HILARIOUS (had us all in tears). We also saw all 3 shows the Gift, We Will Rock You, and Spectra’s Cabaret. The cast, choreography, and wardrobes were delightful. My only issue was with the storyline of “The Gift” (it lost me like 10 minutes in) but still had a fantastic time!

Children's Programs

No children came with us

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We literally interacted with some of the most joyful, compassionate, funny, and dedicated people we have every come across in our lives. Their stories and backgrounds are motivating as heck as many are away from their families for months and months. They all went above and beyond and played a huge part with our beautiful getaway!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very clean and well-organized; a beautiful ship!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Myself and my husband were the only occupants of the room. We had plenty of storage for the massive amount of clothes I brought (haha). The stateroom attendant Mark was fabulous and was always happy to help! The views were also amazing with no obstructions. My only slight issue was we were directly under the Solarium which caused some extra noise but nothing that bothered us. Many say the mattresses are too firm although we slept like babies. I enjoy a much softer mattress but again ..... no complaints!

Ship tip

Solarium Bistro for dinner is a MUST!

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

5 out of 5
Getting on and off the ship was a breeze and all was well organized with no chaos. Good views of the NYC skyline, Verrazano, and teardrop memorial

King's Wharf, Bermuda

5 out of 5
One of the most beautiful places I’ve been too; the sky blue waters and sights are magical. Horseshoe Bay Beach is definitely something all should see. We did snorkeling although due to the high amount of Portuguese Man O Wars and rougher waters we couldn’t go near the shipwrecks. Still had a nice time though

Boston, Massachusetts

4 out of 5
Going from Bermuda to Boston explains it all. The port was decent and we loved sightseeing, and having some yummy lobster rolls although i personally would have preferred a different stop (hence the 4 stars) This was the only cruise for spring break within our area.

Disembarkation

we chose the self assist option and carried out our own luggage. We ate breakfast at 730am, grabbed our bags by 8am, and at the car by 830am. We simply walked right off the ship lol

We love Anthem as well, and I don't believe that ANYONE understands the storyline of "The Gift!"
