Anthem of the Seas

7 Night Bermuda (Cape Liberty Roundtrip)

Sail date: April 13, 2019

Ship: Anthem of the Seas

Cabin number: 13610

Traveled as: Family (young children)

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Review summary

The ship was booked to 100% capacity. A passenger got "sick" on day one and we had to turn around. We arrived hours late at Bermuda. $1,200 in extras, from Trips, to Photo's to cancelled excursions. We've already booked a different cruise for next year, never again Royal Caribbean - everything is extra, and they try and up sell you of everything the whole trip.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
We had to switch to 5pm seating to 8pm, and the head waiter expected a big tip to give us a table to eat.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Lines, Lines and more lines. We never got to use the bumper cars, because it was open only 2 hours a day, and the line was for 3 hours. Our iFly session was CANCELED, and never rescheduled. The surfing also had a huge line, so we never got a chance to do it. They charge $100 bucks extra to use the sauna.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
1 show was good out of 3. The comedian was not funny.

Children's Programs

1 out of 5
hundreds of kids, and they want extra for everything.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
These people are essentially slaves on the sea.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Ship had rips in the dining room seats.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Way too small for a family of 4, big mistake. Kept hitting my leg on the kids bed, which has sharp metal.

Ship tip

The pictures are a big rip off, $300 for the digital picture rights, and $20 for a print out.

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

2 out of 5
Long line in and out.

King's Wharf, Bermuda

3 out of 5
It was a rocky island, they cancelled our original excursion and we made the best of the other venue being stuck on a catamaran.

Boston, Massachusetts

2 out of 5
Lots of traffic, walked freedom trail, which had lots of sirens and construction.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
Selfish people wouldn't move out of the way, took forever.
