Review summary

Okay experience but seen much better from RCL. The boat was extremely rocky and some suggested the captain was unwilling to use the stabilization system. Some shows were cancelled because of it and we missed good amount of entertainment. Overall, mostly hard working staff providing premium service. The cape liberty is terrible, we are not coming back there. Wish RCL tried to make up cancellations some way. Cancelled visit of the Cococay left a bad lasting taste to the whole trip. We love RCL but wont be back to Anthem, other ships set their bar higher.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Windjammer was the lowest quality. Food was cold by the time it got to the table. Staff would often not notice you coming in and you would have to look for them if you need help. Often not enough space.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
5 hrs into the trip all convinient reservations were gone.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
High quality performers, but inconvenient scheduling process and cancellations

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Loved it. Would be nice to eliminate breaks and cover the whole day.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Mostly superior, except windjammer buffett and service desk.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Very clean and nice ship. Adult area felt like a place to go to sleep for the day. Indoor areas felt chilly.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5

Ship tip

Lacks party atmosphere. Feels very average and overcrowded. Still far better than any of the smaller ships.

Sorry you had a bad experience.

We found the movement of the ship to be minimal compared to the radiance. We were on the 12th deck at the front too so not in a very stable spot, traditionally.

When can you start making reservations?

Not sure about the stabilisers but we found that the Anthem moved quite a bit more than the Independence which is our usual ship of choice. You do have to get reservations made as early as possible using the cruise planner for this ship. We also thought that the Windjammer was a bit below the standard we are used to but liked the main dining venues.

Why would the captain not use the stablisers . They help the ride of the ship which saves fuel.
