Anthem of the Seas

Sail date: September 06, 2018

Ship: Anthem of the Seas

Cabin type: Balcony

Traveled as: Couple

Review summary

Canada/New England is pretty much an adult cruise. Done a bit later the foliage will be better but more moderate temperatures prevail. No hurricane worries either.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
People cut into the car lines holding up progress. Need some kind of security to prevent this. Our 45 minute trip was shorter than the 2 mile road to the embarkation curb.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Better than I cook. Don’t understand why people don’t like it. Only complaint about specialty restaurants is if you’re going to charge that much require better dress code. Don’t want to sit next to a man in a sleeveless tee shirt & flip flops

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Trivia, trivia, trivia. Got to be something else. Don’t know why an indoor movie isn’t offered on sea days. Not everyone wants to sit out by the pool to watch. Need some speakers to talk about destinations we’re going to visit.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Shows are great—but 5 years before you change them? How many times can you see We Will Rock You or The Gift? Don’t understand why the ships don’t rotate them. And nothing else to do if you don’t attend. Only option was karaoke

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
As usual the workers go out of their way to please. They deserve any gratuity they received

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Anthem is gorgeous.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Quiet floor. Good location. Only 2 flights to Windjammer.

Ship tip

Be sure to reserve shows & My Time Dining before you board.

Got off the Anthem this Sat and loved it! Shows are not changed more because the ship has to be dry docked and walls removed to get out the last set pieces. Plenty to do, different bands playing, sports and comedy shows.
