Review summary

We loved the cruise overall, but were most impressed by the quality of the performances and the entertainers, and the food. We always eat too much of course and at the end of the cruise feel weighed down, but that's our own fault for not being able to control ourselves around all the amazing food that is provided. We definitely would like to go back to the Bahamas to see more.

Embarkation

Getting through the terminal and boarding the ship was so fast and easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was absolutely amazing... especially at the specialty restaurant (Chops). Some of the best food I've ever had in my life for sure. My only regret is that my stomach couldn't hold more food.

Chops Grille

5 out of 5

Perfect service, and incredible food. I couldn't have enjoyed it any more.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
So much to do on the ship, we couldn't get to it all. We did the bumper cars which was really fun and crazy to even be doing that on a cruise ship. We couldn't do the sky diving simulator because it was completely reserved and we didn't book a reservation early enough. So that was the only disappointment.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Entertainment quality was outstanding. We LOVED the show "The Gift" -- a Royal Caribbean original. The quality of the singers and dancers was really great... better than we ever expected. We really loved all of the performers at the bars, especially the Latin Sabor quartet at Boleros. We were at Boleros almost every night just to listen to them. The singer had a beautiful voice.

Children's Programs

We didn't have kids with us.

Service and Staff

We were disappointed that RC now charges for room service (I think about $8 per order) We had never had to pay for room service in the past.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Cabin was small, but we expected that. The virtual balcony was neat, but not that big a deal to us. It was nice to be able to see what the weather was like outside from our inside stateroom. We were disappointed that RC now charges for room service (I think about $8 per order) We had never had to pay for room service in the past.

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

Not the most attractive point.... but gets the job done. Parking and getting on the ship were easy, so can't complain too much.

Port Canaveral, Florida

Not much to do here... we had bad luck with the weather.

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

4 out of 5
Beautiful beach. Snorkling was ok... we had hoped it would be better.

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
We didn't spend much time near the docks. Went on a short excursion to a private island which was beautiful. The beach was great.. The snorkling there was a waste of time.... nothing to see at all unfortunately.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
We had a late departure so we had to wait a while, but it was an easy process once our group was called.
