Review summary

Overall the cruise lived up to our expectations, whoever is in charge of purchasing of wine is too enamored with California wines and needs to have more French and Italian wines. The staff on board is incredibly friendly and I don't think I've ever been on a cruise where I saw the captain as often as I did on the Anthem. He was in every specialty restaurant that we were in checking on tables and making everyone feel special.

Embarkation

We walked on the ship within 20 minutes of when we arrived, never even sat down.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Best Windjammer of any Royal Caribbean ship we have been on. Never ate in the dining room, had an unlimited dining package. The Italian roast coffee is so much better than the Seattle's best that we had on the Allure, hope all of your ships are now using it. Went to the diamond club room one day for breakfast, it was terrible, old looking dried up meats and cheeses, if it was supposed to make us feel special about being a diamond member it failed horribly. Never went back to that room.

Vintages

Marina was fantastic, the two guys she was working with never seemed to do anything but polish a few glasses while she waited on everyone.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Spa and fitness centers were well maintained, very clean and everything seemed to be working. Enjoyed the bumper cars.

Service and Staff

Everyone we had contact with seemed very genuinely happy.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was incredibly clean, loved the hand washing sinks on the way into the Windjammer.

Cabin / Stateroom

Javier our attendant kept it very clean. The beds were very uncomfortable, need to be replaced.

Ship tip

Introduce yourself to Reluca at Jamies Italian, she is fantastic.

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey Did not visit port

Bayone, enough said

Port Canaveral, Florida

Went to Universal, they should have a special price for cruisers since you will only be there a few hours.

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island) Did not visit port

Not really a beach person

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Only went to the area within walking distance of the ship so I can't really give it a fair rating.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Walked right off, couldn't have taken more than ten minutes.
