Overall a great cruise with lots of activities on board. The entertainment and music were the highlights.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
No problem getting on. Very efficient.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Ships main dining room for dinner was very good. However there were not as much variety in the evening menu as I have had on other ships. There were only one or two new choices on the menu each night along with a standard menu.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Although we didn't use many of the offerings, we viewed them all. The North Star was offered a great view. Being a cold weather ship the Solarium was always full and extremely warm--almost too warm. It was not as quiet as on some ships.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
One of the best ships for entertainment. The big shows were really good. The musicians were outstanding. I liked having the tribute bands (Journey and U2). That added another level of music. The "we will rock you" show was great.
Children's Programs
No children with us
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All of the personnel went out of their way to serve us. They did a great job.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Because this was a cold weather ship and much of the activity happened indoors, it felt crowded at times. There were not enough spaces for quiet reading. Two70 was nice but the quiet was interrupted with the technological performances. The watch/shopping displays were always central in the main lobby, which really cut down on the open feel. I prefer the more open design of the Harmony of the Seas. It felt less crowded.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Cabin was a little streamlined. Although there was enough room for all of our clothing and items, it was not as spacious as other ships. We were a little short on hangers. We had to ask for robes. It was a little tight on one side of the bed, due to the positioning. The balcony was great.
Ship tip
Do your homework. Prebook your shows before you arrive. Understand what dining options you have. If the buffet is overly crowded, go to the Solarium Bistro for breakfast or the Cafe Two70 for lunch. See the Maitre D when you arrive to check out your evening seating arrangement.
Took the shuttle bus to Cocoa Beach. Cost of $15 round trip if you got of the ship. Much cheaper than on board ship. Nothing much to see. If we had done an excursion to Kennedy Space Center we would not have been back for dinner. The port would have been Ok if you went to Disney, I suppose, but an expensive option.
Only difficulty was tendering. It was a long process. You can get your tender tickets the day before.
There were plenty of beach chairs and the food was good. It was a great beach day.
