There were over 1,000 children on this ship and it was impossible to relax. It was a total chaos. It's too bad because the crew works very hard and provide excellent service. But the atmosphere was tense due to the high number of children and teenagers.

Review summary

We love Royal Caribbean, they provide excellent service, food and entertainment (the best). However, due to the excessive number of children and teenagers, it was not a relaxing and unpleasant. There was not adult area. Children and teenager everywhere. Teenagers created chaos during adult show. This promotion offered by Royal (children for free) was not a smart decision. Despite of the excellent service, food and entertainment, I am disappointed but we were not able to relax in the pool area, tension at the theater.

Sarah the room stewards did an excellent job. She was very professional and attentive to our needs. Great job! Sofiene (waiter) and Anil (assistant waiter) provided superb service. Very caring, super professional, hard working. We were very impressed with their professional demeanor - EXCELLENT!! They deserve recognition.

This ship doesn't have an adult ONLY section, such as pool, hot tub. Children and teenagers have privileges to all areas. Missing a good spa. No salt water pool. The crew works hard to maintain the ship in excellent condition.

Find out the type of promotion the cruise line is offering. If it's CHILDREN FOR FREE and you want to relax, chose another cruise line.

IMO nobody's vacation should be spoiled by someone else's children. Staff should be policing bad behavior.

I'm sorry you had such a rough experiences. Cruise are supposed to be fun and relaxing. I suggest checking the school calendar for bordering states to the port. I like to book my cruises after spring break April/May or early September. There are fewer children because they're either prepping for finals or just returning to school those times of year. So far I've been successful.

There is the solarium adult only section and when I was on Anthem in March If children (17 and under)were being too rowdy in this area I’ve seen staff ask them to leave.

Try HAL or Celebrity next time. I had the same problem with Royal and NCL.
