Review summary

Sailed in Oasis and Freedom class ships. If you expect smooth sail like the other RCL ships, you will be very much disappointed with Anthem. Especially, if you are first time cruiser, avoid this specific ship. RCL has so many other ships that are much better.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Typical RCL food varieties.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Be amazed if you could get on the North Star, or iFly.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Only 3 production shows. Out of which, Spectra Cabaret is total wast of time.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
They are very sincere in keeping up the RCL standards.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Excellent cleanliness - I admire their relentless effort to keep it well maintained. Anthem design lags, as compared similar sized RCL ships. The Royal Esplende is too narrow; the open concept seem to be missing.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Very well maintained cabins. The room attend kept our cabins so clean and crisp all the time.

Ship tip

Avoid this specific ship, as it requires serious overhaul. You would not have the smooth sail that a typical cruise ship provides.
