Review summary

The ship is impressive with lots to do. However, the billing and on board accounting was shabby. I was over billed on several occasions including double charges by ship stores to the total of $350.oo

 

It was difficult working with on board personnel to make corrections as it consumed many hours of our time taking away from our vacation. In the end one crew member in guest services was attentive and helped us resolve our problem. However, as of this writing I'm not certain we received the proper credits to our account.

Pleasantly comfortable, balcony added a nice dimension and privacy

Ship tip

Do not utilize upgraded restaurants. They did not represent a value as service and food was equal too or less than food services available in the all inclusive price.

We were charged a bottle of wine and some glasses of wine even though we had a bev package ... Just went to guest services and they took care of it ... No problem. You can see your statement anytime on the TV or your phone with the app. Just deal with it when you walk by guest services when there is no line... You walk buy many times a day :)

We fortunately had no billing problems, but I checked our onboard account frequently, after hearing others had. They do say least make that part easy enough. You can check it anytime, using either the in room tv or Royal iQ app.

We had problems too and got the run around in guest services. We finally emailed their face book page and got a quick response from corporate and they took care of everything. Staff seems unexperienced and poor customer service skills.

I ran into a similar situation on an earlier RCCL cruise. It appears that ship-board accounting systems do not communicate with shore-based systems in real time. I find it so incredibly hard to believe that this problem still exists. Especially since RCCL is touting the benefits of its VAROOM Internet service among its fleet.
