Review summary

This was my first time aboard Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas.  The ship was almost TOO big and you had to do a lot of walking to get from place to place.  It was always crowded in public areas.  Unless you made a reservation for dinner, it was nearly impossible to get into one of the four dining rooms without waiting an hour or more.  There was not enough Inclusive dining to serve the over four thousand passengers during normal dinner hours.  The beds were very uncomfortable and I heard this from a lot of other passengers.  Felt like you were sleeping on a board.  The shows on-board were not that great.   When you went to guest services for questions, the line always took a half hour.   On a good note, the crew was very friendly and helpful.  Would prefer a smaller ship for my future cruising.

Good cabin for 2 people. Any more would be tight. Balcony barely used so not sure if I would pay extra for it in the future.

Ship tip

Ask for extra bedding. Book all reservations for dining before the cruise. Book a 7 days cruise. 6 days does not give you enough time on the island to really explore.

We thought the shows where great. Beds are very hard, this is a personal thing as well. Of course you have to make reservations. We made reservations from the line once with the app.

We loved the ship. We made our reservations before we boarded and had no problems. We were able to change dinner reservations as needed. We did hear complaints about beds but we lucked out with ours. We thought We Will Rock You was excellent, received a standing ovation. The other entertainment was okay.

James stop telling people that have issues with this ship they need to find another way to vacation because there's nothing wrong with the ship. There are a fair amount of complaints about the same stuff.. RC needs to fix the issues. We've been on 4 cruises in many aspects this was the worst boat we've been on.

I have been on 11 cruises all RC if you don't make reservations ahead of time you will wait. I will never go on any other cruise line. Going on Anthem Sat the 14th. Then I will make my own review

We are sailing on The Anthem in 5 days. We have sailed on The Allure which is a larger shop and holds about 1,500 -2,000 more passengers and it never felt crowded. I'll be able to judge on my own in 5 days.
