Review summary

Nice ship, all ports have docking, goes to interesting ports. If you want a cruise were you want to get away from a lot of people, doing the same thing, pick a smaller cruise ship such as the ones Princess cruise lines has. This is a nice ship, but too large, and too crowded, all the time. My wife and I took a Princes cruise to Hawaii from the port of Los Angeles, and even through we had several sea days, there was always something to do and especially for us who had no kids with us and in our mid to late 50’s, and it was not that crowed when we went to eat or watch a show or participate in activities that had no additional charges. On Alleur of the Seas, it seems like almost everything cost extra. That’s not my definition of great cation that I already paid so much for.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main buffet always crowded. No food offered near pools like hot dogs and hamburgers. Main dining room time too late. Cost of speciality restaurants too expensive.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Not into rock climbing, fitness center, or zip line, that were all too expensive anyway. Not many other activities to do.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Shows were excellent. Especially since there was no additional cost. Although, you do have to make reservations that’s not required on smaller ships.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
As with most cruise lines, staff were always excellent especially for such a large ship.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Cleanness was very good although the ships carpet and furniture in our room seemed to be a bit dirty.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Comfort was okay. Couch was dirty. Bathroom seemed a bit small. Stateroom was also a bit small. Balcony was comfortable and private.

Ship tip

Reserve everything as soon as you can, otherwise you will miss out on some shows or activities you might want to do. Everything is by reservation, even the shows.

Disembarkation

Exiting was easy and fairly quick. Nice that they had some snacks, coffee, for the line before exiting.
