Review summary

Very good cruise, awesome ship but might be too big for me

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Once inside the terminal, it was smooth sailing to get on the ship probably less than 15 minutes

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate breakfast and dinner in the MDR everyday and lunch once. I thought the food was excellent, the service was great and was out in about an hour. The Windjammer was OK, ate there for lunch while in port. We tried other places like the Port Cafe, Wiped Out cafe and Johnny Rockets for lunch also.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Lines were too long all the time for rock climbing, I did get to do the zip line. I was only able to get in the pools when in port as most the crowds were on shore. It was very relaxing as one pool was closed for maintenance for a few days.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
RCCL in my opinion has the best shows. Mamma Mia was awesome, the aqua show was fantastic, the ice show was great, and watched the Blue Planet for the first time. The comedians were not that good and had the same ones for the whole cruise so seeing them once was good enough.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward did a great job, room was kept cleaned, provided extra towels that we asked for and pillows. Our waiter’s were excellent, Kennet and Christine, went out of their way to provide excellent service to us. We celebrated my wife’s birthday, they brought out a candle on her dessert and sang to her. Also, we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary a couple days later and they decorated a dessert and brought it to us and got other waiters to join in to sing to us. We thought that was very special for them to do that for us.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything was kept cleaned and well maintained. Crew was busy all the time. This was our first cruise on an Oasis class ship, I’m still debating if I like this large of a ship and 6900 passengers. There is alot of things to do.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was good for us, would like to have another closet but we managed. Bed was comfortable, room steward kept it clean.

Ship tip

Definitely booked your shows as early as you can before you cruise as they fill up quickly

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
I thought getting off the ship was a little disorganized. They sent you to a waiting area which was also the same area to get off the ship so people were getting off before their tag number was called. Going through the terminal was quick but had to wait awhile for our shuttle as it was backed up.

Thanks for your review. I have to agree on the mega ships. I prefer midsize ships like Freedom & Voyager class but booked this ship for a B2B this winter, thinking it might be less crowded while schools are in session. 🤞
