Review summary

Allure still has all of its luster, and after a quick adjustment to realistic expectations, even the difficult crowding grows tolerable. It will take 3-5 cruises on this ship to do all that is offered. It is amazing, but can be overwhelming the first time on Oasis class. Expect luxury, excellence and some waiting and some booked full shows. stay positive and switch gears, plenty of alternatives to do, so do not let one bummer ruin your cruise. Take your happy cruise with you as you pack.

Embarkation

Easy peasy as long as you show up slightly ahead of your prescribed time. Galveston is a clean and efficient port.

If you are fortunate enough to be at concierge level or above, prepare to be spoiled. It will be hard to go back. Beware: Amenities become necessities once enjoyed! 😅

Disembarkation

Interesting in that the CBP/ICE raid delayed our off-boarding by about 1 hour which angered some poor planners with unrealistic early flights. Galveston is pretty far from Houston so never ever plan on flying before noon on debark day. Turns out the feds run the entire passanger manifest for warrants and immigration status, yes every passenger, while we cruise. So they get to leisurely plan a raid and board bright and early on D Day and arrest anyone with outstanding warrants or illegals nice & easy peasy. This one must've been drug related as the luggage and cabin searches took time (maybe dogs). exactly as you would expect otherwise have a plan or have a bad D day
