It was nice to get away... but honestly wished we had gone on a different ship or another cruise line.
Embarkation

Very fast & efficient . . . Got through the line and was on the ship in less than 45 minutes
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Specialty restaurants were phenomenal! Amazing service, delicious food . . . VERY happy we purchased the dining package. The main dining room was a letdown for sure . . . Even though we are diamond status, we couldn't get our dining time changed despite speaking with the concierge in the diamond lounge . . . We had to stay with the only available time which was 8pm . . Service was very slow . . . From beginning to end I would say our family sat there for 2 1/2 hours . . . Our food was below subpar.. some items were cold, but we were starving and didn't want to wait any longer. Not to mention that our 5 year old had fallen asleep due to waiting around so long. After this experience we decided to avoid the main dining . . We actually heard this complaint from many of the other passengers on our sailing advising us to go somewhere else for dinners. Also . . . we purchased the soda & unlimited beverage packages . . . Throughout the whole ship, I believe I only saw 2 spots where the soda machines were located??? 2 next to Sorrento's and 1 (maybe 2 ) in the wind jammer . . . C'mon! From one extreme to the next and nothing in-between. Maybe put one on the boardwalk and another by the kid pool IDK but it felt like a rip off honestly....
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Although Allure is a large ship . . . it's lacking in activities. My oldest son & I did try the rock-wall as well at the zipline . . which was great fun!!! BUT everything else was lacking... Children's pool area needs to be updated desperately . . . The arcade, which we pre-purchased $100 gift cards for each of our sons, was a waste. The majority of the games were broken or not in service. So disappointed that ALL the VR games were "out of service" the majority of the time was spent in the boardwalk arcade and basically only played 2 games . . Bowling (only 2 out of the 4 units worked) and some duck game . . Even Zoltar on the ship was broken!!!! What a let down . . . .
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We only went to the Aquashow and it was AMAZING
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our room steward and our waiters at the specialty restaurants were outstanding!!!!! Honestly, they made our vacation. If it wasn't for Luis in Sabour, or the waiters in Izumi . . I unfortunately can't remember the names of the other people that we met at the specialty restaurants, BUT they all went above and beyond for our family!
Ship Quality
1 out of 5
Many things were broken . . . or under construction. From small things like the screens in the elevators not working, lights out, rust on parts of the ship, chipping paint, collections of dirty plates and glasses strewn about, broken video games in the arcades, even from our stateroom when looking over the balcony if you looked to the right you could see a rather large strip of metal hanging off the ship . . . To larger issues... at one point one of the pools and hot tubs were closed for almost two days causing an overflow of people to the other areas . . The ship was lacking the luster that we always loved about the RCL cruise line.... It was very disappointing to be honest.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Cabin was clean! As said before, our steward was phenomenal! But other than that, again . . . fell short. When booking, we were told that this room had an additional bunk and it didn't so both kids slept on the pull out couch . . . Our bed was horrible! Was almost like sleeping on a brick and found ourselves longing for our bed at home after the first night. Which is odd, because from what I remember our beds were always comfortable on cruises? Also . . .. lacking outlets & I know RCL skipped the dry dock and upgrade for Allure but c'mon . . . its 2022 . . . USB ports?! Even if you put just one in each room?!
Ship tip
Don't . . . . Look at another ship or another cruise line. Allure of the Seas is tired and not very Alluring . . .. She needs updating. Staff was amazing . . . Ship was not
We did the "glass bottom" boat tour . . . Pretty sure we everyone sitting to the rear of the boat got carbon monoxide poising ( by the end of the trip many of us were complaining of severe headaches and a light headed feeling / nausea ) from the boats engines and the glass bottom were 2 very small rectangles in the boat . . . ALSO the people conducting the excursion tossed RCL under the bus by explaining that the cruise line OVER SOLD resulting in over capacity on the small excursion boat ...
Extremely fast!!! Only thing that may be helpful would be to perhaps put up ropes for lines??? People were jumping in causing quite the ruckus and displeasure to others.
