Beautiful ship, lots to see, lots to do. The Serenity Adult section was truly only adults with its own cafe and bar for convenience. The water show was amazing!!! The entertainment staff did very well. The specialty restaurants can do better.

Review summary

Overall, this being our first cruise with Royal Caribbean, we will definitely cruise with them again but on other ships for a different itinerary, venues, etc. Everyone in my group had a really good time and was asking me to plan another cruise before the cruise was over and we had first time cruisers with us. The Captain chose to avoid Hurricane Ian by taking an extra day at sea to head east around Cuba and came up behind the Hurricane which caused us to miss a stop in Honduras but based on information I received we didn't miss a thing. Enjoyed it! Allure is soooo HUGE that you will forget that you're on a ship sometimes. Especially walking through the neighborhoods in the middle of the ship. So book it. You will not be disappointed. But I wouldn't recommend My Time dining. Stick to a reserved dining time.

Herding cattle until you actually made it inside the port. They need more personnel greeting arrivals at the curbside and directing them to where they needed to be and actually have a more designated line for each category for a smoother process.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

I enjoyed everything when it came to dining except I expected more from the specialty restaurants. With the exception of the Italian restaurant I'm pretty sure they served the same thing in the main dining.

Cabin / Stateroom

Clean, our Steward John was excellent but as we have grown older and even though the cabin was nice we now know that we need more space. So our future cruises will be a suite with a balcony.

Ship tip

Opt for a suite with balcony for the space and midship on the higher decks.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Never have been a fan of this port but it's very convenient to get to by southwest airlines.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras Did not visit port

Hurricane Ian came through and we had to change our itinerary.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

Just a small port with small shops to get your money and over priced junk.

Cozumel, Mexico

Love cozumel. Probably my 4th visit. Love the Excursions. Only thing I never liked was the poor transportation (taxi's) that are associated with the Excursions. Old vehicles poorly maintained, not all, but some. We rode back in a van that had exhaust fumes coming in, no a/c, some small BS fan blowing hot air for circulation and the engine was about to blow.

Disembarkation

By far that was the EASIEST departure we've ever had. If they could just reverse that process getting on that would be awesome!
