Review summary

We had a good time and the service was great (except for long lines in the main dining room My Time Dining). But the ship was crowded and I found out later that there was a Covid outbreak on this sailing. RCL had an indoor 70s party where people were literally on top of each other. They should be taking more precautions.

Embarkation

Very quick. Make sure you have your vaccine card with you. You get your Sea Pass card onboard when you go to your cabin.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Service at bars was good, but very long lines for My Time Dining even though we had a reservation — at least a 30 min wait with lines that wrapped around. The Brazilian Steakhouse was great. Suggest Solarium Bistro for breakfast and Central Park Cafe for lunch.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
My son got hurt on the flow rider but medical staff was great and they took good care of him..all complementary. Ship Photographers were great and the prepaid package was a good deal. You can get 100 digital photos and the 8x10 printed copies were an additional $50.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Mama Mia and the Ice Show were fantastic. They had a comedian who rode a unicycle who was not very good. The Adult Karaoke finals were surprisingly good!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone we met was wonderful and really seemed to want to be there.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
My favorite part was Central Park. We really enjoyed meeting at Vintages to get a drink before dinner and some late afternoon snacks.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin itself was fine, but the Boardwalk balcony got no air and was very hot

Ship tip

If you are concerned about Covid hold off booking for a while. We are fine but there were many cases on the ship and it was crowded.

Ports of call

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

We did the snorkel safari through the ship. Excursion was well run, but there weren’t many fish to be seen. I was looking forward to the Artisan Village, but it turned out to be a series of little stalls where most of the shopkeepers have the same items. They were literally begging me to buy something from them which made me very uncomfortable.

@Orlando81 per Royal's website: Park Cafe: Food is at no additional cost, but specialty drinks and alcoholic beverages are at current menu prices. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-dining/park-cafe
