Review summary

Our first couples cruise on RCCL, which told us that we don't need our kids to have fun with Royal. It was a much more relaxed cruise without the kids, which was just what we needed. Let everyone else worry about Activities and Shows, we could be lazy and enjoy the cruise life.

Embarkation

It was a rainy day in FLL, so boarding was a little damp

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We only winjammered twice thanks to the alternatives available. Non-main dining highlight was the Park Cafe panini's. The 3 Cheese Melt is fantastic.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Didn't do much outside the casino and just chilling on the deck. I did use the flowrider for the first time, which was a fun diversion.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We had see the standard shows (which are great) so only the comedians and juggler was new, but they were very entertaining.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I've never had a bad experience with RC staff

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
I do wish there was more around Central Park than premium dining & food to drive more traffic there. It felt like a somewhat neglected area of the ship. Though if you want away from people, it's a good place to hide in plain sight.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Good size standard balcony. Felt almost like a hotel room

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Cozumel, Mexico

Standard cruise port. If your ship is near, there's stuff to do here for nearly every budget.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Went to Daniel Johnson's Monkey and Sloth hangout, which was awesome, even in the Rain.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

Rough roads on the way to Chacchoben but the destination was awesome
