Review summary

Wish they kept the casinos smoke-free and at least half of the pool deck (unfortunately smokers occupied both sides of the pool deck and it was impossible to avoid).

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Speedy, efficient, informative and pleasant

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining room food and service were top notch. Don't bother with specialty restaurants. The food is that good in the main dining room.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The number and variety of on-board activities was phenomenal

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Ice show? Check. Broadway show? Check. Diving show? Check? At least one exceptional comedian but they need to get new musicians. Barely could tell there was a piano in the piano bar; latin music was not latin; main show band was awful; deck band was good but way too loud (not their fault).

Children's Programs

Did not have small children. However, was very glad to see wholly separate areas for adults. Needs to be enforced though. And children should NEVER be allowed in hot tubs.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Waiters were exceptional. Room steward was very friendly and efficient.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Marvelous areas like the Boardwalk and Central Park. Only quibble was couldn't cross over to other side of the ship in certain floors due to hollow core in back.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Everything was great except the pillows (very sad).

Ship tip

Try the Eastern Caribbean. Mexico is just too tired these days.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
FLL is a great town. Lots to do; much nicer than Miami (except for South Beach of course). Nice port right next to the airport, unlike Miami and Port Canaveral. Not true that they have good signage. RC never told us where the ship was docked and we only found it by seeing the name of the ship on its side! As we passed it! Had to turn around to get to it. Uber works fine here coming and going.

Cozumel, Mexico

1 out of 5
Except for really nice tacos (at exorbitant prices) don't bother getting off the boat here.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

2 out of 5
Over-hyped by International Living. Definitely a third-world country still. "Resort" was not all-inclusive and beer was about the same price as in U.S.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

4 out of 5
Costa Maya was only good becuase we went off-ship for our excursion to Maya Chan (google it). Marvelous all-inclusive resort. Not hioty toity at all. Great food, free alcohol, comfy beachside digs at calmer beach, and great service. Even has a pool.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Wait until at least 9 AM (no matter what they say) to get off. Leave your big bags out the night before by 10 PM and have a nice leisurely breakfast upstairs.
