Allure of the Seas

Ship: Allure of the Seas

Cabin number: 11222

Review summary

It was more than expected, given the Covid conditions on land. In fact, it was safer to be on the ship. Be careful of daily Internet charges, which are a rip off. Better to buy a crise package, which is cheaper than 3 separate daily Internet costs. Bring your own games and books for the card room (no ship games) and library (no ship books), due to Covid.

Embarkation

Quick and organized....and Covid safe

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Dining Room on Deck 3 and Buffet on Deck 16 were excellent. Hand washing was required. In the Buffet, tables were spaced out and food was dished out by the crew.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Stayed mostly in the card room and library playing games.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The stage, comedy and musical entertainment were first class and very professional.

Children's Programs

All 8 children and 18 grandchildren stayed home

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Except for the Assistant Front Desk manager (who was a "stiff"), AL:L of the service crew were more than excellent, caring, helpful, knowledgeable and wonderful, especially the waiter at table 359, the Maitre de Petar, and the cabin attendant Bernard.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship looked brand new, although it was actually more than 10 years old. It was in tip top condition in design and cleanliness, and maintenance. Walls, elevators, tables, chairs, etc. were constantly wiped own to prevent Codiv.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin, including the bed, furniture, balcony and bathroom, were more than adequate, and what was expected of a top notch modern ship.

Ship tip

Wear your mask (except while actually eating or drinking), keep distancing, take walks on the deck 5 track, exercise in the gym, and enjoy yourself to the utmost.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
The post was easy to enter and leave. Outside nearby street free parking was easy to find followed by a very short taxi ride to and from the port. The terminal was super clean with all Covid protocols.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Nice private island and beach. Stayed on the beach and in the water at all times and did not take part in the numerous activities that were available. The island was like a resort. Lounge chairs and umbrellas were available for free. The lunch was excellent.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas Did not visit port

It was due to Covid precautions by the ship or by the port authorities. Which one was not made clear to us.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

5 out of 5
Wonderful port. Nice people. excellent public beach, and lots of shopping. Liquor prices were much less than on the ship for the same items.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
Did shopping. Went to the nearby walkable beach. low-cost taxi service. Liquor prices were even LOWER than at St. Kitts.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Excellent. Never stopped. No Border Patrol agent queries due to face recognition automatic review. Did not even have to show passports. Easy and fast to get a taxi.
