Review summary

This was an 8 night and a 4 night back-to-back sailing just prior to Christmas. There were many people on board including many children and infants. Nevertheless, we had a fantastic time with many memorable moments.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The embarkation was very organized and smooth. We had a 11:30AM check-in appointment and we arrived on time, showed our vaccination cards, proofs of negative COVID test and passports. Since we did the on-line check-in, there was nothing else for us to do except board the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food quality was good in MDR and in the Windjammer. We did not eat in specialty restaurants nor did we order food from a room service. The menu in the MDR was limited.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Activities were scaled down due to COVID. We spend most of our time relaxing in the solarium and in the casino. We also used the gym on a regular basis.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We saw Mama Mia, the ice show and the aqua show as well as a comedy show. We were impressed with the aqua show performance which we recommend for others to see.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We experienced a superb service and extremely friendly staff everywhere on the ship.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This ship accommodated 5000 people. The common areas were very clean and ship was well maintained. The windows and glass railings were washed once during the voyage. The ship’s design was fabulous.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had a Junior suite with plenty of space for our needs and comfort.

Ship tip

We recommend that everyone does the on-line pre-check to save time during embarkation.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
We spend one night at the Fairfield Inn close to the airport prior to departure. The hotel provided a complimentary shuttle from the airport. There was also a shuttle available to a cruise port for $15 per person.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
We booked an excursion to the the top of St Thomas that included a site seeing tour and a gondola ride to the top of the mountain. There we enjoyed a splendid view from a panoramic restaurant that also included a souvenir shop and a cocktail bar.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

5 out of 5
We booked a safari type excursion around the island. Our guide was very knowledgeable and informative.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
We took a water taxi over to the main shopping strip. There we had a nice lunch and did some shopping.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Back-to-Back embarkation process was very chaotic and took a long time in comparison to what we have experienced before. RCCL blamed it on the US Customs.
