Overall a good cruise! The weather wasn’t great but we made the best of it.

Food and Dining

We had the unlimited dining package. It was fantastic! We ate at Chops for lunch a couple of times. Dinners were fantastic! We really loved Samba Grille, the Brazilian steakhouse. The only place the staff was “stuffy” was at 150 Central Park. We just didn’t have a good waitress but the food was great.
Onboard Activities

The weather wasn’t great during our cruise so there wasn’t much to do outside. There were several things to do inside but with the ship rocking the way it was, everything was difficult 😂. We made the best of it though and spent a lot of time just relaxing (much needed too!).

After being on Harmony of the Seas, the Allure is definitely dated. Still a nice ship but needs the upcoming refurbishment. We definitely missed having Wonderland as a dining option. The photo gallery was not digital - all the photos were printed and in binders. Still a nice ship! We will definitely sail on her again.
We did the cooking class at Fairview Manor. It was fantastic! I highly recommend this excursion. We got to help the chef cook and then got to eat all the food. We finished with a rum tasting and tour of the grounds.
We were delayed getting into port due to bad weather. It rained off and on all day. We bummed around and went to get lunch. It was an ok day but nothing special.
We were in San Juan as all the protests were starting so it was a little weird. We walked around town and went to eat. We went to La Casita and it was great! Friendly bartender with good food and great drinks!
We were stopped from getting off the ship by customs agents with no explanation. After going back to customer service and straightening out the bill (they closed our account out before all the charges went through ) we were stopped by customs agents again being told we were “randomly selected “ even though they had a printed list in their hand. It turns out that any single purchase made on board that the cruise line determines is “significant”, they now notify customs. The amount is not defined , just random (clarified with customs). So beware that even though your onboard purchases are duty free, you may still have to explain your purchase.
