Review summary

This was my last family vacation for a while as my son leaves for basic training on Sunday. Royal Caribbean made it a memorable one. They were so caring and attentive. You can tell that their staff enjoy their jobs ( for the most part).

Embarkation was seamless we were on the ship within an hour of our arrival at the port.

We did not do any of the specialty restaurants for dinner. We ate dinner in the main dining room. The service and food were wonderful.

Momma Mia was amazing. It brought tears to my eyes.

We had Karin and Paolo in the Main Dining room. Ricardo was our stateroom attendant. They all went out of their way to ensure this family vacation was everything we wanted.

I love the design of the Oasis Class ships. Allure is due for some upgrades you can see the wear and tear of the years of use if you look close enough. The staff were constantly cleaning and performing necessary maintenance on her. She will be restored to her full beauty in a couple months.

We had an ocean view balcony and it had plenty of room for both my husband and I.

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

This was my first time in Puerto Rico. I loved this port as well. I wish we had spent more than a half day there. I would have liked to have time to explore. I was bummed that the umbrella street was destroyed in the recent riots. I am hoping the will have it fixed up again next time I am there.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

We did not do an excursion. We snorkeled Nelly's beach. It was a great time. The island was so beautiful with the mountains and the ocean. Make sure you have a labadoozie when you are there.

I love St. Maarten. It is still recovering from the hurricanes, but the people are super friendly and I never felt unsafe or unwelcome.

First time on Royal

Awesome ship! Fantastic staff. Best eating staff we have ever had aboard any cruise. Shows aboard this ship were far better than any show we’ve seen aboard a cruise as well. We’re sold on the bigger ships.
