Review summary

We had a great vacation and can't wait to cruise with Royal again. The Allure is a beautiful ship. We didn't get the stop at Labadee due to a medical situation, but pleased that if put in that situation, my family would be put first. Although disappointed in missing the port, the right decision was made. Your vacation is what you make of it and any day on a cruise ship is better than any day at work!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
So easy! Expedited arrival accomplished having done everything online!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was good. Overbearing cigarette smell from the casino was a damper upon leaving the main dining room each evening.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
So many options! Variety all around the ship!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Aqua and theater shows are wonderfully done. Daily options for music.

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Finding an attentive bar server is vital and so simple to do. Staff go above and beyond at every opportunity.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Sometimes a challenge to find an elevator at busy times. Getting your steps in is easy as it does take abit to get from one end of the ship to the other! Ship is kept tidy and cleaned.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Good sized cabin. Disappointed in balcony. Would not choose an inside balcony view again. Noise, noise, noise along with absolutely no privacy was a major disappointment. Should have chosen the ocean view balcony.

Ship tip

If choosing the windjammer for any meal, go as early as possible to avoid standing in line for admittance.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
Easy in and easy out. No issues.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
Easy shopping available.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
Went to the Bicardi distillery. Fun and informative.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Sad, but simple and quick!

We will be on the Allure in November. Can't wait. Will probably try the Windjammer on Embarkation day as we usually are on the ship early enough to beat the crowds. The rest of the cruise we will try the other free dining options for breakfast and lunch. On all our cruises we love the MDR for dinner so I'm hoping the food will be delicious. We have a Boardwalk balcony which we've had people tell us they loved it. Just close the balcony door and no more noise. We usually have an ocean view balcony. We'll just use the ships decks If we want to sit and watch the water. We also had a medical emergency on our cruise to Alaska and we missed going through the Tracy Arm Fjord. Even bought a balcony cabin for that purpose. Our ship had to wait for a helicopter so we completely missed the Fjord. We were disappointed but glad the passenger hopefully received the care they needed. We were never told. Things happen. Still, cruising is the best vacation ever ⛴🌴

So nice to see a post where people cared about the family of the medical emergency. I've read so many reviews that bashes the cruiseline for caring. Glad you enjoyed Allure, we had a wonderful cruise on her in May.
