Review summary

We had a good time with family. It was a great experience bonding with family. Our reserved dining experience (15 of us) was probably the most memorable part of the trip. We had the advantage of a seasoned cruiser with us which allowed for lots of input for choices/opportunities we made. We are hoping to look forward to good deals in the future.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
once we got to the port it went well; no long wait but we were there early

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Lots of choices; pasta line too slow in American Icon at lunch time

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Lots of opportunities but didn't utilize them all; great exercise/workout facility

Entertainment

4 out of 5
we enjoyed the shows/entertainment we went to

Children's Programs

no kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was helpful. Our room steward was very accommodating. Our dining room servers , Marlon and Mohammed, in the American Icon were exceptional. Fabulous with rest of our party's children. Made this part of our trip pleasurable and fun.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
It's a huge ship but once you figured out where everything was it was easy to navigate. Everything seemed to be very clean and well kept.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
It was comfortable and enough room to make the stay enjoyable; very dark with lights out which was nice for sleeping. Our sliding door malfunctioned when checking in but was taken care of right away. There was urine odors in the head but that was cleaned up by our room steward right away.

Ship tip

If you want to enjoy the full extent of the opportunities take lots of money.

Ports of call

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
Took a long time to get to and because of rough seas some of our party missed a couple of days initially; even with anti nausea medication but our beach experience on St. Maarten was good although I was somewhat disappointed with snorkling opportunities.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

4 out of 5
Did some sight seeing but there is so much to see/do there is/was not enough time to enjoy it all.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

3 out of 5
For the site being run/operated by Royal Caribbean the hassle of dealing with very aggressive local merchants made the experience unpleasant.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
To avoid long lines we chose to rise very early (5 a.m.) so the process went very quickly and after an early breakfast we were able to get off the ship by 7 a.m. and were able to connect with ouir shuttle for a ride to our parking spot.
