Review summary

Royal Caribbean is a step above the rest. This cruise was everything we wanted and expected. We cannot wait to book our next one. Deluxe Drink Package is a good deal, but because its now a lump sum payment it can be difficult. Perhaps allow guests to pay the cost of the Deluxe Drink Package over time, prior to the cruise (break up the payment).

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Our head waiter John (Table #124 & #125) and his assistant were fantastic. Very attentive to our needs and tastes. Kept checking on us but not in an annoying way. He made our nightly dining something to look forward to. We actually requested to be seated at his tables.

Entertainment

Always something going on. Headliner Earl Turner was amazing. I do not know how this man is not a household name. Some of the events overlapped so we could not make them. That was disappointing. Maybe the cruiseline can look to minimize overlap of popular shows and events.

Service and Staff

Royal Caribbean never disappoints. I've been on other Cruiselines and they cannot match Royal Caribbean.

Cabin / Stateroom

It was very noisy at night. I complained several times but the noise continued. I am not sure where it came from. It sounded like someone was sliding something heavy back and forth. Many times a loud thud could be heard., so loud that it shook the cabin. This occurred all night making it difficult to sleep.

Ship tip

Pay your gratutites ahead of time and purchase a drink package prior to the cruise (cheaper). Arrive at your shows and events early to be sure you get a good seat.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Depressing port. Lots of poverty and visible evidence of hurricane damage. I could do without this part of St. Maarten

San Juan, Puerto Rico

4 out of 5
Drop St. Maarten and allow more time at San Juan

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

5 out of 5
Beautiful Island beach. A fun day!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Royal Caribbean has the best disembarkation process I have ever experiences. We were off the ship in about 5-7 minutes and no line. Norweign's process took about an hour and had long lines snaking through the casino.

What was the avg cost of the alcoholic drinks? Do they have limits to the deluxe drink pkg? I.e a number per day or pkg doesnt include certain alcohol?

Where was your cabin located? Being below pool deck (& such) increases chance of noisy cabin.
