Review summary

This was my first cruise, and going forward this is really the only way to vacay! Being on the ocean was an incredibly therapeutic. My family and I went in early September so crowding was never an issue.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Windjammer was my least favorite. I would only enjoy two or three particular items. I felt the asian bar food options were not very tasty, and the breakfast egg choices had little to no cheese, even when listed as such. The three tiered restaurants basically share the same menu which I didn't fancy. I know one or two items would be newly placed, but it still needed a bit more variety.

From the entertainment manager (Flavio) to our room steward Kenta, all encounters with personnel was very pleasing.

Ship Quality

Central was my favorite location. I'm a sucker for lush greenery, and it was a great surprise. The ship was always immaculate.

Cabin / Stateroom

Was very impressed with how comfortable the bed was. My only complaint was the raised step to get into the bathroom. Felt it was a little too high, hurt myself a few times.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

This references the disembarkation experience. The custom officer was awful. He overtly attempted to flirt with my friend. When that wasn't successful, it became my turn to have a Q & A session with him about why "we" couldn't make a long distance relationship work. It was absurd, and beyond unprofessional. Then the cab driver price gouged us. He turned off the meter, then quoted us a price that supposedly on the outside of the cab's fine print. Proceeded to argue that we just spent $1200 on a cruise, but couldn't pay his price.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

This port would've been awesome if the vendors were not so aggressive. Heading down to the beach through that "valley" was awful. The heckling was really bad going in and coming out. Its a deterrent. However the Amiga Island was divine. My only suggestion, would be to add a seafood grill in addition to the bar.
