The Allure is showing its age. It is not as technically advanced as the newer ships. We have been on the Harmony and the Anthem. The Allure was going into dry dock following our cruise. Hopefully, some of the upgrdes will be made.

Food and Dining

This was our 4th sailing on the Allure and there were changes to the specialty dining that we didn't care for. Chops steak house had lways offered a 29-day dry aaged porterhouse, the main reson we go to Chops. The aged steaks have been removed from the menu and a seafood tower is offffered in its place. Shrimp, mussels, Jonnah crabs and lobster are on the tower. They were bland and somewhat tasteless; we are from Maryland and know seafood, especially crabs. But the biggest bust was at 150 Central Park. The 5 course tasting menu haas been replaced by a choice of 1 app and 1 entree. Certainly not worth the upcharge. Giovanni's Table was as good as always. The buffets are average, at best.

Entertainment

One of thee main reasons we went on thgis cruise was to see Mamma Mia. All of the shows in the past were excellent. However, the 2 main actors got sick and both performances were cancelled. Of course, this was not the fault of Royal Caribbean, but was disappointing nonetheless. A 45 minute concert by the house band and some of the cast replaced the show. Excellent, but not what we came to see.
Service and Staff

Room stewards and wait staff were excellent, with one exception. The 150 Central Park experience was awful. Besides the change in the menu, we felt that the waiter was in a hurry to have us finish and leave.

Cabin / Stateroom

Our balcony stateroom was the perfect size, but the Allure is beginnning to show its age. The temp control in the shower had to be played with and only shampoo is offered.
Park at Labadee is always fun. But, the food at the kunch was the worst we have encountered. The burgers had a horrible texture and the ribs were overcooked and hard as rocks. We have been to Labadee at least 6 times, and this was the least favorite.
Had a wonderful excursion. We were bussed (1 hour) to the other side of the island to Bamboo Beach. Lots of fun, drinks and good food. It was the Bamboo Beach VIP excursion. Highly recommend
Cozumel is so much niver than wheen we first went there, about 10 years ago. The port area has lots of wonderful shopping and restaurants. We went on a Mexican Cooking Class and Beach Day. What a blast! We prepared and then ate a 3 course meal at a wonder facility with an amzing chef. So entertaining, as well as educational. Highly recommed this one for anyone who likes to cook. After eating, we had around 2 hours at the beach/water park. Open bar!!
Since you no longer have to fill out Customs forms, you "fly" through customs in no time. We drove to the ship and were in the car and heading out less than 30 mins after our number was called to disembark. If my wife had not overpacked, we could have walked off earlier.
