Review summary

We have cruised RCI on many occasions; most often in the Caribbean.  We had not cruised on an Oasis class so we didn't really care about the itinerary. We really didn't care that much about seeing Cozumel and Jamaica for the umpteenth time, and that was a good thing.  (Those days the Allure was ours!!! We were really free to explore its wonders.)

The ship is truly grand.....we were quite impressed that even though there were a combined total of 8000+ individuals on board, we really didn't feel crowded.

A few observations:

The cabins are a wee bit smaller and the DW was not impressed with the layout of the bathroom. (We had an ocean view balcony.)

We ate in Chops one night and it was fantastic.  Other nights we had early dining in the MDR.  My wife is not a heavy beef eater and she was pretty un-impressed with the other selections she tried on the menus.  I do believe that these new menus leave a bit to be desired.

All of the staff went out of their way to be helpful.

The entertainment was awesome.  We especially enjoyed Chicago and Blue Planet.  Cannot say enough about the divers and acrobats that so thrilled us.  Imagine, they are diving into that little pool as the ship is underway at 18 kts.

Embarkation and debarkation is a breeze.  The only disappointing part about this cruise, as with all of them, is when you walk off the ship that last day.

We would highly recommend the Allure.

Store the coffee table in the closet to gain additional room. Nothing you can do to make that bathroom any bigger.

Ship tip

On embarkation, avoid the Windjammer and enjoy the Park Café. Really great build your own salads and the Roast Beef Sandwiches are to die for.
