This cruise was an alternate itinerary due to Hurricane. All and all the ship and crew were ok, but the level of service and food was lacking from an RC perspective. I often found myself to be the only person in line for food or a drink and would just watch the staff either keep wiping something and just not pay attention for several minutes.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Arrive at your time and it goes very smoothly. They do a very good job with getting you onto your vacation fun.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Food in the main dining room was less than stellar. Flavors were more bland and the menu a stale. Bar service on the ship was slow and the drinks were not impressive at all.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Activities were decent and the fitness center, which I did use was adequate. Water slide is fun! Go on a port day when you come back on ship. No line.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Schooner Bar and Duck and Dog had live entertainment as usual, but the acts were not very good. The band Pulso that played the Imperial Lounge was much better. Did sets of classic rock and country. Very good!
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Our room steward was very good. He was in and out very quickly and did a very good job of keeping things tidy. Waiters in the main dining room were average. But Santos in Giovannis was very good and so was the service at Chefs Table.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Ship layout for this class of ship is nice. But I did find a lot of dishes laying around on the floor. I do understand that much of this is on the passenger, yet it seemed more than usual. I often found myself picking it up and taking it to a dining/bar area.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The Junior Suite is very nice. The extra room and chairs made the experience better. The tub in the bathroom provided extra space.
Ship tip
Do not expect Freedom Class or Oasis Class experiences. It is a nice ship, but to me, was lacking the feel in service you expect from RC
Spent some time walking around. Very poor area and extremely dirty with trash all over the streets. But, the food at the Seafood Bar next to the port, Excellent! Get the fried snapper.
Cozumel is okay. Just try and make it out of the gauntlet of people hounding you and walk the town. The farther you go, the better prices are. Remember, walk out, shop back.
